Useful Life of Soda Lime in Circle Absorber

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was undertaken to investigate the useful life of soda lime absorbers, the effect of flow rate on this useful life and also to investigate the relations between indicator change and the end point of useful life with two type of canisters (Type A; canister of Quantiflex, 12.9 ㎝ × 16.6 ㎝, Type B; canister of International 2, 13.1 ㎝ × 16.9 ㎝).
The results were as follows;
1. In Type A; the average useful life of soda lime was 1,885 minutes in control group and 2,513 minutes in experimental group. In Type B; the average useful life of soda lime was 1,587 minutes in control group and 1,980 minutes in experimental group.
2. Each experimental group prolonged the useful life of soda lime., to 33.3% in type A, 24.8% type B compared to control group (p < 0.01):
3. Type A prolonged the useful life of soda lime to 18.8% in control group, 26.9% in experimental group compared to type B (p < 0.05).
4. At the end point of useful life of the absorbent, the level of color change of indicator of the absorbent were above three-fourth-height of two chambered canister.
